From childhood fascination to life's work
Etly Klarborg's passion for Elfs began already in childhood, where she found joy in shaping small figures. At 4 years old, she created her first Elf from peat moss – an experience that laid the foundation for a lifelong love of figures with soul and personality. With a creative mind and a fondness for details, she continued to create, and slowly a dream to share her world with others grew.
The founding of Klarborg
In 1986, the dream truly took shape when Etly Klarborg opened her first store in Northern Jutland. Her handmade Elfs and figures quickly attracted attention with their warm expression and unique design. From a small shop, the Klarborg universe steadily grew, driven by a passion for Danish craftsmanship, traditions, and the special Christmas coziness that her figures convey. Today, Klarborg is a beloved part of many Danish homes – not only during Christmas but all year round.
A Danish Christmas icon
For more than 35 years, the Klarborg elves have been a fixed part of Danes' Christmas traditions. With more than 400 unique designs, they have found their way into the hearts of countless homes, creating joy year after year. Klarborg has become synonymous with genuine Danish Christmas coziness – a tradition passed down from generation to generation. And although the Klarborg elves have their roots in Denmark, they have also spread abroad, where their charm and warm expression win new hearts.
